Hi guys,
I took my cpa exams on 2010 but didn't pass. I planned to retake it last year but wasn't able to. I even bought the 2011 wiley books and test bank. I'm planning of taking the cpa exams this year. Do you think my 2011 Becker & Wiley would be enough for my study materials? Do you have other suggestions.
Appreciate your thoughts and insights.
Maria
Erika Woodard said… Thanks, Maria. I got Yaeger 2011 materials but could not take the test in 2011 because of personal reasons. Once I got those out of the way I took the test first in February 2012 and did not pass. I had studied for 3 months. It wasn't because of the materials. It was because I was super nervous about taking the test for the first time. I let myself become overwhelmed and I ended up failing. So the next time I listened to all the lectures again and did all the homework over. I also bought the Wiley Test Bank questions. I wanted some fresh questions because by this time I had memorized all the answers from the homework. I listened to the lectures then do the homework in the book. After the book questions, I would do some practice questions from the test bank. Every 2 to 3 chapters I would then do a quiz in the test bank on what I was currently studying and any previous chapters I've studied in order to keep that stuff fresh. It is a lot of material so it is good to take a quiz or do some practice questions on previous chapters so that you don't forget what you've already studied. Most importantly don't let it overwhelm you. Just breathe, relax and study your best. You will do just fine.
