Comment by Troy Potter on February 5, 2012 at 8:43am Just got back my results, passed with 90 on first attempt!!! Keep working the MCQs and going over the concepts of the ones you get wrong, it gets tedious after a while but sure helps come test day. Off to BEC!
Comment by Kirsten Keller on February 4, 2012 at 9:13am Hi Theresa,
I would suggest you start studying as soon as possible if you plan to sit in April. If possible, give yourself three months of study time. I passed my first sitting with an 80. I studied 10-15 hours per week and did as many MCs and SIMs over and over again as I could tolerate. I took a lot of practice test using the Wiley test bank. I also took the practice test on the AICPA website several times to familiarize myself with what the actual test would look like. I did so many practice tests that the MC portion of the exam was very familiar to me. The SIMs were tough and I don't know how I could have better prepared for those. Just do as many as possible. I hope this helps. Good luck!
passed on my 2nd try
Comment by Diana Lynch on February 3, 2012 at 9:11pm Just received my score 467 in FL. Not only did I not pass I even dropped my score by 5 points. Ughh.. such a long journey and I was so hoping to be done with Audit. I think I may try to test again in April.. not sure. I have got to pass ASAP! Good luck to all other waiting for scores.
Comment by Theresa Lin on February 2, 2012 at 11:29am Hi All, I am planning my study for AUD and schedule it in April. Could anyone tell me how they study and how many hours they put into each week? THanks!
Comment by Kirsten Keller on January 28, 2012 at 1:57pm Hi Madhavilatha,
The SIMs did seem to concentrate on decision tables; if/then scenarios. I would particularly study scenarios to determine when control risk, sampling risk, and/or inherent risk are being affected. The best way I know how to do this is just do as many SIMs as possible, over and over again, and to understand the basic differences in the audit risk model.

Comment by Madhavilatha on January 28, 2012 at 12:03pm where Can I get more information about decision tables?
Comment by Kirsten Keller on January 25, 2012 at 5:45pm Anthony, I used Yaeger which comes with a Wiley book and access to a Wiley database for practice testing and I passed AUD my first try with an 80. I'd say they are pretty good materials.
Comment by Diana Lynch on January 25, 2012 at 5:12pm I had a few months between my last test and this one so I was shooting for as close to 100hrs as I could. Lunch everyday for 30 days (30 hrs). Half and hour to an hour each night after the house winds down (15-20 hrs) and around 6-8 hr each weekend (30ish). Plus I was taking the Becker class in Tampa so that's an extra 20 hours of lecture time over the whole section.. I really hope I can pass this time.. I was only a few points away first go around!
I didn't realize it was still taking so long to get the scores. I guess I was lucky last Nov when I tested the last day of the window and got my score in less than a week!
