@sue: In my first round of testing I used Becker's online class. On the second round I used the Becker guarentee and attended the in class version. In both I did all the homework, MC questions, and practice simulations.

I really felt that Becker is lacking on the sims for FAR and REG. Both times I tested I got topics that were much more in depth and advanced then sims I saw in Beckers practice tests. For round three I supplemented with Wiley test bank and the audio from "another71.com"... After getting wiley I finally passed REG.

My big issue was there were a lot of topics that were brand new to me and I didn't see at all or enough at my college. Since so much was new to me its not surprising that I didn't pass any on the first time. Becker is good but since they drive so much in memorizing and glazing over the top of many subjects it was hard for me to digest the first go around while sticking to their 2 chapter a week timeline.

I agree that the MC is the way to go but like you said its hard to remember all the curve balls that they can throw. Just to prevent getting confused by some of the test questions the mnemonics were my back up since they stick to the basics... there were many a question that I could narrow down to two choices and the mnemonic saved me.

Diana, I hope you pass. How awful to loose a passed exam. I got a 70 on my first AUD try in May.

How do you you go about studying for retakes? So much material - I use Becker too. I guess just start at the beginning again and work through all the MC over and over. That is what I did the first time. I didn't actually memorize the mnemonicsseemed like I learned the details by studying the MC. The book was overwhelming to me except to read once, do the lectures once - then just spend a ton of time on the MC till I felt I knew them at 90%. Trouble is so easy to forget. The MC questions were mostly tricky so that just reading the book/lectures were not enought to answer them, you really almost had to learn each question.

@Wadzi: I started testing at the beginning of 2010 and BEC was my first pass in Feb 2010. This is my last testing window before I lose the credit and I have to pass AUD (which I just took) and I have FAR next month. I passed REG in June as well. You have 18 months from the first test you pass to pass all the others as well or that credit drops off.

@Debanjana: I don't want to tell anyone to ignore sections as each test is different but I did want to mention mine was heavier on the ones mentioned below this test and my last one.

@Diana, how much would you emphasize on transaction cycles?

Thank you so much Diana im using Becker too i think they do make it a lot easier to memorize. Good luck though. So how long ago did you pass BEC and is that the only one you have passed?

How long does it take to lose a credit? I passed BEC May wrote Reg last week and this is my 3rd exam.

Sat for AUD yesterday.. hard to tell how it will go. This is my last chance to pass AUD or I lose BEC so I'm hoping for at least a 75. This is my third go around and felt pretty good on the multiple choice. I got through those and spent just over 2 hours on the sims.

My recommendation is to make sure you are solid on independence, substantive testing, and audit and review requirements/standards. The mnemonics from Becker were a big help.
